Bow and arrows in RDR 2

As you know, Red Dead Redemption 2 has a fairly wide selection of weapons. In addition to firearms, there is another, since ancient times, famous for its effectiveness: a bow and arrow. And despite the lack of firepower, do not underestimate the favorite type of weapon of native Americans, because they used it for many years to get food and fight off invaders. Arthur can also use it for hunting, and can perform elimination operations: the bow is perfect if everything needs to be done quickly and without making a fuss. In addition, the developers have provided the ability to pump arrows.

Where to get a bow and arrow

This weapon is available at the very beginning of the game. It can be found in saddlebags hanging on the horse, just equip yourself by pressing the appropriate key. At first, you can only use normal arrows, but over time you will have access to other, more advanced modifications. They are suitable for hunting animals, for the extraction of valuable skins, as they cause minimal damage. And you can get a lot of money for great skins.

How to make a particular type of arrow - this information will be revealed to Arthur as you progress through the missions. It can be contained in special booklets that the main character will find during his journey.

There are several ways to get improved arrows, as well as any type of weapon in RDR 2:

• To buy. But this option is not always acceptable, since it requires money, and with finances, Arthur sometimes has big problems.
• To take from the corpse. And here we are not just talking about a person. You can, for example, shoot a bow at an animal, and then go and pull the arrow out of the wound. Also, by the way, you can do with throwing knives and Tomahawks.
• To make it yourself. A method that does not require monetary expenses. All you need to do is find out. how exactly is a particular arrow made, collect the ingredients and start making it. As a rule, it consists of two or three components, one of which is a standard arrow that needs to be modified.

It is worth remembering that the bow can be useful throughout the game, so do not give up on it even when a firearm appears.

Types of arrows

There are six types of arrows in the game, including the regular one:

• Small arrows. Almost irreplaceable for hunting small game. Almost do not damage the skin. Ingredients: standard cartridge case from the cartridge of a shotgun and the pen.
• Poisoned arrows. Becomes available after the passage of the second Chapter. A great option for hunting a large-sized animal or killing a person. Also, poisoned arrows are suitable for exterminating wolves, boars and other similar animals. Ingredients: standard arrow, feather and oleander. It is the latter component that gives weapons poisonous properties: first, the toxin contained in it affects the nervous system, and then provokes cardiac arrest.
• Improved arrows. It has an increased flight speed. Ingredients: standard arrow and feather.
• Fire arrows. Optimal for murder. They set fire not only to the target, but also to a certain area around it, but not always. Ingredients: standard arrow, feather, animal fat (any).
• The arrows with dynamite or explosive arrow. It is considered the most dangerous modification. Great for a surprise attack on a large crowd of people. One explosion is enough to turn the enemy camp into a fireball. Ingredients: standard arrow, feather and dynamite.
