Fast travel in RDR 2

Move to RDR 2
The simplest way to move around the game world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is to ride a horse. This type of transport has both positive and negative sides. One of the main advantages is to save time spent moving between locations located at a great distance from each other. However, the speed of the horses is not as high as we would like. In addition, they may get tired on the way, which will lead to the need to make a stop to replenish their strength. Therefore, the developers of Rockstar Games have implemented various options for fast movement in the game, which can simplify the journey through the world of RDR 2.

Methods of teleportation by location

To move around the world in the first part of RDR, you had to set up a camp in the desert. In Red Dead Redemption 2, the ability to travel has become much more extensive. You can move around the map using the following types of transport:

Stagecoach

A multi-seat carriage using horse-drawn traction. It is one of the most convenient ways to move around the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. to mark stations, use the icon representing a Telegraph pole. To buy a ticket, click on the icon of the stop sign. The cost of a stagecoach ride varies depending on the length of the trip. The advantage of this method of travel is the ability to get to places that can not be reached by train. For example, the city of Strawberry, located on a mountain plateau.

stagecoach
You can travel by horse-drawn carriage after completing the first Chapter. To unlock this option, you will need to open several regions. You can not travel by stagecoach after a crime has been committed (when a reward is announced for the head). First, you will have to pay the fine by visiting the nearest post office. Stagecoaches are marked on the map with arrows that point in opposite directions. If you jump into the carriage without paying the driver, the driver will consider this gesture as a capture of the cart and open fire.

Train

In the game world of Red Dead Redemption 2, the railway connection is well developed – passenger trains move clearly on schedule. It is most convenient to buy a ticket at a bus stop or in a railway station (you can even visit stations that have not yet been opened by Arthur Morgan). The trip price is affected by the distance of the destination from the player's current location. The ticket price is quite low. The main advantage of using trains is the speed of movement – you can reach any point in a few seconds. At the same time, the horse will be waiting right near the station.

Train to RDR 2
Arthur Morgan is able to jump into the car even while driving, but the speed of the train should be low. The advantage of this method of boarding a train is that you can jump off it without waiting for your station. If you buy a ticket at the train station, you will have to get out of the car only after arriving at your destination. You can only make a quick trip from Rhodes, Annsburg, Valentine, Saint Denis and other cities with railway connections.

Moving out of housing

Unlike traveling by stagecoach or passenger train, such travel is absolutely free. This feature is not available at the very beginning of the game.
It appears after passing the Strauss mission "Crediting and other sins". To activate this option, follow these steps:
  1. Open the book and go to the "Lodging" section.
  2. Then you will need to upgrade the housing class by paying $ 220. This step is necessary in order to get the next update.
  3. Next, you need to purchase a fast travel card (its cost is $325).
Moving from home
Now you can use the map to make quick trips directly from the apartment that belongs to Arthur (the map is located next to the bed). You can only move to locations that are already open.

Automatic riding

To activate this mode of transportation, you need to get on a horse, and then set the destination on the map. You should plot the route in such a way that the road runs past places that are dangerous. After closing the map, the horse will start moving automatically, which does not require the participation of the player.
