If you have Fallout 4 crashes after launch, the first thing you should do is to check you have the most recent drivers for your graphics card. If you are using Nvidia, then rejoice, for they, as usual, immediately after the release has released a fresh pack of drivers, with improved support for Fallout 4. If you are a user of AMD, you are not so lucky, as they, unlike their competitors, do not particularly like to release an update of drivers for every major game project. But still, update the drivers and if the error persists, roll back the driver to the last version and oreficeria files Fallout 4 on Steam. After that, just in case, update the version of Direct X and Visual C++.
But still, the main cause of crashes at startup Fallout 4 is not the basic system requirements of the game. Here I would like to especially highlight the lack of capacity of RAM (insufficient RAM). The minimum required amount of RAM for gaming is 8Gb. At least the game is simply not designed, so if you want plenty to wander around the Commonwealth, will have to buy additional RAM. By the way, this also means that to play you absolutely need the 64 bit operating system because 32 bit is not able to work with more than 4Gb of RAM.
You can still try to disable antivirus or run the game in windowed mode with reduced settings. You can do this using the launcher, but personally I prefer to edit the configuration files of the game, because in my opinion more reliable. For Fallout 4 this file is Fallout4Prefs.ini, which is located at the address:
C:\Documents\My Games\Fallout4
Open it with any text editor and add the following values:
bMaximizeWindow=1
bBorderless=1
bFull Screen=0
iSize H=1080
iSize W=1920
Note: the screen resolution you can deliver, depending on the configuration of your computer.
