The main competitors of Fallout 4 in the battle for the title of game of the year were: platformer Ori and the Blind Forest, PS4 exclusive Bloodborne, the new adventures of Lara Croft - Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the continuation of the adventures of Geralt of Rivia - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Nice to see that in spite of the not easy start and a mixed reaction of the community, the positive qualities of Fallout 4 have been appreciated. But we haven't even seen a single DLC that, in the best traditions of Bethesda Softworks, usually become much more interesting and even revolutionne than the game itself.

D.I.C.E. Awards exists since 1997 and, no, it has no relation to the authors of the Battlefield series. The name stands for "Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain". Until 2013 the award was called The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Awards, but the name has changed, apparently, because of some awkwardness of already existing one. The game of the last year, according to the D.I.C.E. Awards, was the creation of BioWare - Dragon Age: Inquisition.
As you can see, Bethesda Softworks' efforts were not in vain. Despite the numerous bugs that appeared in early versions of the game, for example a bug in which you can't see a lock Fallout 4, developers were able to get their product in the divine form, and now reaping the well-deserved fruits of their labors.
